Originally, the mission of the SADD chapter was to help young people say "No" to drinking and driving.  Today, the mission has expanded.  Students have said that positive peer pressure, role models, and other strategies can help them say "No" to more than drinking and driving. That is why SADD has become a peer leadership organization dedicated to preventing underage drinking and drug use by focusing attention on the potentially life threatening consequences of destructive decisions involving issues such as not wearing a seat belt, smoking, steroid use, violence, sexually transmitted diseases, and suicide.
Their biggest project every year is the Prom Promise. During the week before prom, SADD holds an assembly to encourage students to be safe on prom night.  They also set up a table at lunch where students can come by and sign a card that promises they will keep themselves and their date safe. SADD also promoted "Red Ribbon Week" and "Smoke-Out Week." They also helped "Beyond the Walls" by giving money to underprivileged children for Christmas and Thanksgiving.
